Community Watch Posting

Deputy Ricker / Community Watch Manager wanted me to pass these on to all our residents as reminders for the summer….

  1. Remember to call the Sheriff’s Office at 910-455-3113 and request a house check before leaving your home for vacation. It’s free. Our best crime deterrent is presents. Who doesn’t want a Deputy driving through their Neighborhood.
  2. Keep all your yard equipment and yard toys secure. Even a cable and  lock securing several together works.
  3. Don’t leave anything of value in your vehicle, to include the keys. Lock your vehicle up at home, church, shopping. Here and while on vacation.
  4. As I travel through the County, I see a lot of garage doors open. Please keep them closed. To the criminal it is yard sale time with a garage door open during the day and night.
  5. Please remember the criminal is always out on our County Roads and in your neighborhoods looking for something free. Please call in suspicious activity in your area. Only you know who belongs in your neighborhood and who is up to know good.
  6. Let all know how important it is to give the Community Watch Coordinator your name and address if you have surveillance cameras that show part of the road as well as their drive way. When something happens in your Neighborhood, Deputies and Detectives need that info.
  7. On a good note from North Carolina Wildlife Commission. For the 4th of July 2018, no license required to fish from the mountains to the coast. That is for 4th of July only. So Family coming to visit can drop a line.
  8. I have attached a copy of the Vacation Safety tips for all.  (Please see Vacation Safety Trip info under “Pages”.
